UncategorizedSpring Revival 2022

Daylight Savings officially kicked in last weekend. I always love the start of a new season because at our house it’s like two bears coming out of the cave from a deep slumber. After the longest winter, we are revived and eager to jump back onto renovation land!

Spring has bought a flurry of activity to our street and our house. Our direct neighbours are building a new garage, and our other neighbours across the road recently craned in a pool. They are building a cabana to go with it!

Even if we can’t get a car park on our street, it’s exciting to see all this activity and progress happening around us.  Last week a truck arrived from Bunnings with our Gib.  We were on the waiting list with an expected arrival in November, so imagine our joy to receive our bundle of Gib early.

While waiting for the Gib to arrive, Paul thought it would be a good idea to build the front fence. He has made the base and now needs to assemble the columns and insert the black metal railing.

I can imagine our fence looking like this one.

Paul also thought it would be a good time to change the windows at the front of the house. Now, with the arrival of the Gib, it has thrown us a curve ball. As we are operating on a shoestring budget, we were aiming to save up for the Gib. Instead we will have to funnel the fence fund back into the bedroom.

Last week, I also received our fabric to make cushions for the Gin Room (aka sunroom).  The soft velvet is even more delicious than the swatch I ordered.  I’m so excited to get these made up!

While Paul was out building the fence and inserting windows, I finally finished creating my 3-D Model of our house.  I can’t even put into words how good it is to complete this project!

Spring will be a busy season for us, and I look forward to sharing our progress with you in the upcoming weeks. Until next month, I hope you all get a chance to put your feet up and smell the blossoms!
